Section Activities

Monthly Meetings

SWE Greatland typically meets on the second Wednesday of every month for either a social networking gathering or a technical topic. We try to stagger whether we meet during the lunch hour or in the evening to include as many members with varying commitments as possible.

Upcoming Monthly Meetings:
December 5, 2023 – AHBA Shoebox Wrapping Party and Potluck
January – TBD Technical Seminars

During professional license renewal years (2023, 2025, 2027, etc.) SWE Greatland aims to offer a one-day continuing education credit course in October or November.

Community Events

SWE Greatland participates in a wide range of activities and services within the community. In the past, we have participated in the Alaska Run for Women for the fight against breast cancer, helped raise money for the local TV channel, KAKM, and radio station KSKA, formed active SWE Greatland teams in the local charity races, and providing holiday cheer to less fortunate children.
